Cane and grass weaving is one of the oldest crafts in Bengal. Baskets, mats and trays are made in villages using techniques passed down through families.
What is often missing is design direction: proportions, colour, finishing and combinations that fit modern homes and wardrobes. That is where we work with artisans: we bring the design and quality framework, they bring the hand skill.
The result is a product that is recognisably handmade but consistent enough to sell in quantity, and that gives the maker a stable, better-paid outlet for their craft.
