Sustainability
We would rather say less and back it up than make claims we cannot yet document. This page describes what we do today and what we intend to prove over time.
- Natural and renewable materialsJute and cane are annual or fast-growing crops that need little irrigation and no synthetic input to grow. We use them where they genuinely suit the product, not as decoration.
- Responsible sourcingWe buy jute fabric from Bangladesh mills, leather from local tanneries and cane from craft communities. As supplier documentation becomes available we will publish it here.
- Waste reductionCutting plans are optimised per order. Leather offcuts become card holders, tags and trims; jute offcuts become packaging and small goods.
- Durability and repairabilityProducts are constructed to be used for years. Handles, straps and hardware are designed to be replaced rather than to make the product disposable.
- Artisan developmentWe work with makers on design, quality and consistency so that craft skills lead to stable, better-paid work. We will report on this as our programmes mature.
- Ethical labour practicesFair pay, safe working conditions and no child labour are conditions of working with us. Third-party audits will be published when completed.
- Packaging choicesKraft, cotton and jute packaging by default. Plastic only where a product needs protection in transit, and reduced wherever possible.
Our claims and evidence
This section will list certifications, supplier documentation and measurable data as they become available. Until then we do not use terms like "100% eco-friendly" or publish sustainability statistics.
Placeholder. Add certificates, audit summaries and supplier records here once verified.
Have questions about our practices?
We are happy to talk through materials, sourcing and working conditions in detail with serious buyers.
